About The Position

Maven AGI is seeking a Finance Associate to support its day-to-day financial operations and ensure accurate, timely reporting. This role is suitable for an early-career professional comfortable with numbers, systems, and financial statements, offering broad exposure to budgeting, reporting, AR/AP, and sales commissions. The associate will work closely with the finance team to analyze financial data for strategic recommendations, manage accounts payable and receivables, calculate sales commissions, and support the month-end close process.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or investment banking.
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Ability to pull, download, and categorize financial data from accounting systems.
  • Understanding and working proficiency in all three primary financial statements (Income Statement (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement).
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, basic analysis).
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Pull financial reports to support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Reconcile actuals vs. budget, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations and strategic recommendations to the finance team.
  • Assist with the preparation of internal financial dashboards and management reports.
  • Manage the AP process, including capturing all bills, obtaining approvals, and scheduling payments.
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries.
  • Ensure all bills are paid accurately and on time, following company policies and controls.
  • Assist with AR oversight, including invoice preparation and tracking customer payments.
  • Monitor aging reports and flag overdue accounts to the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Support follow-up on outstanding invoices when needed.
  • Own the calculation of sales commission payments based on approved plans and reported performance.
  • Validate sales data and work with Sales/RevOps to resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare clear commission statements for review and approval.
  • Help maintain proper documentation, controls, and audit trails for all finance activities.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes and reporting.
