About The Position

The Borough of Tenafly, Bergen County, (pop. 15,500) is seeking a detailed-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounts payable and administrative functions, including maintaining vendor records and required documentation, preparing bill lists, printing and distribution of checks, maintaining purchase order files, processing stop payments and handling Open Public Records Act (OPRA) requests. The position also provides support to the Chief Financial Officer/Tax Collector and performs various related duties as needed within the department.

Requirements

  • Two years of municipal experience, preferably in Accounts Payable
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to adhere to resolution deadlines for submission of the bill list
  • Fingerprints and background checks are required

  • Experience with Edmunds software
