The Finance and Data Analytics Intern's primary objective is to work on projects for both the Finance and Data Analytics teams and will spend time in both our NYC and Stamford offices. Key functions will include but are not limited to:

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Rising sophomore, junior or senior preferably in an insurance, finance or data related major
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly. You are an outstanding collaborator
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Your communication style is flexible to the situation. You communicate clearly and with a purpose
• Calm under pressure. You have excellent organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks.
• You are comfortable challenging norms while working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
• You have a strong sense of accountability, fun and adventure
• Natural curiosity. You love learning how things work and you are always looking for innovative improvements
• Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and other programs

Responsibilities

• Support 2027 Premium and Expense Planning Process
• Rolling forward and setting up Vena for 2027 planning
• Extending expense planning into Vena to replace excel spreadsheets
• Further leveraging Vena functionality for P&L planning
• Historical Reconciliations
• Support finance team in completing historical reconciliations
• Reinsurance Process Improvement
• Improve the reinsurance accounting process
• Finance Looker Report Improvements
• Streamline and enhance the reporting process using Looker.
• Develop new reports and update existing ones as necessary.
• Identify and assist in validating inaccuracies for correction.
