About The Position

As a Finance Analyst, you will support multiple projects in accounting and finance-related functions. You will serve as a trusted advisor to operations managers and executive management. This position requires strong analytical skills, a relentless ambition for continuous improvement, and polished technical and soft skills. Kiewit Energy Canada is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. We are a major industrial contractor that work on projects that involve construction of oil & gas facilities such as oil sands processing, including steam–assisted gravity drainage facilities, upgrading & refining, midstream facilities, power & co-generation, terminal projects (ex. LNG, LPG, etc.), and major mine developments. We also have a Modular Yard facility in Edmonton, Alberta. Our engineering branch is a leading-edge division that offers innovative engineering services for our current projects and new pursuits in Canada. Our design services group are based in Calgary and Houston offering expertise in process, piping, mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural disciplines. This position will be located in our Calgary, AB office.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of financial/data analysis or public accounting experience.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Suite required.
• Effective communication (both oral and written), organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to balance multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the Construction Industry preferred.
• SAP and PowerBI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and effectively communicate financial results of projects to management.
• Earn trust, credibility, and buy-in of processes from the Operations team to create better cohesion and clear communication within the organization.
• Develop and maintain budget and cost reports and earned value analyses.
• Assist in the tracking of project change orders and development of projections.
• Assist project team with the development of project procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement throughout the organization and be a proponent for positive change.
• Effectively use the right data, reports, and tools for risk analysis and benchmarking.
• Assist in client billing and revenue collection.
• Collaboration: Interface with project teams and the finance team to ensure financial accuracy and project success.
