The Finance Analyst role, for Winter 2027 (Co-op/Internship) lasting 4 months, involves assisting and supporting various teams to identify and create efficiencies, enhance current processes, and automate processes. The role will assist with building monthly reports, automating reports, pulling data, and reporting back. The ideal candidate will have an education background in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or Computer Science. This position consolidates, analyzes, and reports on the financial performance of the business/group to support month-, quarter-, and year-end closing processes, including financial reporting and financial governance. It supports an efficient and effective accounting function that uses common information sources and practices, reduces ongoing costs, and increases service level performance. The role also involves building effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders, analyzing financial results to support financial period closing and reporting processes, and providing insights and recommendations. The analyst will gather and format data into regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards for assigned legal entity, business, or group financial information packages. They will support the preparation of journal entries, monthly/quarterly reporting packages, and financial statements, including applicable tax payments and reconciliations, in accordance with accounting rules and standards. The role provides information and supports the process for internal (e.g., corporate and SOX) and external audits, reviews supporting documentation, escalates areas of concern, and makes necessary amendments. It also coordinates and executes specific activities for the implementation of strategic initiatives, including tracking metrics and milestones, and executes routine tasks within relevant service level agreements. The analyst will organize work information to ensure accuracy and completeness, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives, and develop knowledge related to business/group accounting requirements and standards. The role involves completing complex and diverse tasks within given rules/limits, potentially handling escalations, analyzing issues, and determining next steps. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. A key aspect of the role is to take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework, in line with the Risk Culture and within the approved Risk Appetite, making sound and risk-informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policy documents, laws, and regulations.
