About The Position

The Finance Analyst works across accounting and financial planning at Daybreak. The role owns the month-end close and helps ensure financial information used by leadership, the board, and investors is accurate, timely, and supported. It also builds and maintains financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and investment decisions, including models that account for school district contracts, insurance reimbursement, clinician capacity and utilization, payer mix, and contract economics. The analyst partners with the Sr. Director of Finance, who reviews the work and supports the role’s development, and collaborates with leaders across Clinical, Operations, Revenue Cycle, and Go-to-Market. The position explains revenue and margin drivers and contributes to strategic finance work. It combines hands-on accounting responsibilities with financial modeling, FP&A, revenue and receivables accounting, business analysis, and audit and compliance support.

  • 2–4 years of accounting or finance experience, including hands-on month-end close responsibility and exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning.
  • Demonstrated financial modeling experience, including building or significantly maintaining an operating model, budget, forecast, or driver-based revenue model, and ability to explain how the model works.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookups, conditional aggregation, and well-structured, auditable models.
  • Hands-on experience with a modern GL/accounting system such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar.
  • Curiosity about the business and comfort partnering with non-finance stakeholders, with clear written and verbal communication that explains results to non-finance colleagues.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines and independently manage competing priorities in a remote setting.
