About The Position

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges. As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support. Cloud is a priority for Google. We develop groundbreaking cloud solutions, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Google Workspace, to enable our clients’ digital transformation. Our Finance team ensures that Cloud Product, Capacity, and Technical Infrastructure (TI) organizations make sound financial decisions for investments in the Cloud business. We are an important partner and advisor to the Cloud leaders, providing them financial, analytical, and insight. The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
  • Experience with executing full-cycle FP&A functions including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling within a multinational company setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience streamlining cross-functional activities into processes.
  • Knowledge of Google’s technical infrastructure, AI/ML hardware, and the economics behind the investments needed to support AI/ML demand.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate cross-functional workstreams to analyze capacity constraints and cost drivers for customer agreements.
  • Develop models to forecast customer demand and profitability.
  • Partner with engineering, technical infrastructure (TI), and product management (PM) to analyze the performance and total cost of ownership (TCO) for artificial intelligence (AI) product stock keeping units (SKUs), incorporating these insights into customer proposals.
  • Work alongside capacity, TI, and PM to develop cost insights for the new product introduction (NPI) roadmap based on macroeconomic commodity prices.
