The Intern position is a temporary, 12-week role designed to introduce students or recent graduates to the property and casualty insurance industry. In this program, the intern will be tasked with leading and completing a Lean Six Sigma project, with the opportunity to earn their Yellow Belt certification. As a Finance and Accounting Summer Intern you will gain hands-on experience in a corporate finance environment while contributing to meaningful business initiatives by supporting a variety of projects, including account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, data analysis and reporting, audit and compliance preparation, month-end close, and accounts payable. This internship provides exposure to the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Finance and Accounting, including its use to enhance productivity, automate routine tasks, improve reporting and analysis, and support decision-making. Through mentorship, networking with leaders, team collaboration, and career development opportunities, you will gain valuable technical and professional skills while learning about emerging technologies shaping the future of accounting and finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma or GED with ongoing progress towards a Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • No previous experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Lean Six Sigma training and lead a project from inception to completion.
  • Interact and collaborate with internal departments to gain industry knowledge and achieve project goals.
  • Prepare and present project updates to senior management.
  • Become familiar with property and casualty insurance industry terminology.
  • Complete assigned trainings on property and casualty insurance industry knowledge.
  • Assist team members with day-to-day tasks and assignments.
  • Shadow team members and assigned executive mentor to gain insider knowledge of property and casualty insurance.
  • Network with others through participation in social company events.
  • Attend onboarding and training as assigned.
  • Supporting a variety of projects, including account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, data analysis and reporting, audit and compliance preparation, month-end close, and accounts payable.
