About The Position

Mind Robotics is building the full-stack platform for AI-enabled industrial robotics -- the foundation models, purpose-built hardware, and deployment infrastructure to automate the manufacturing work that has resisted automation for decades. We were founded by RJ Scaringe and spun out of Rivian in 2025, with $615M+ raised from Eclipse, Accel, and Andreessen Horowitz. Our first robots go into Rivian's plant this year. The scale of what we're building from there is large. We keep the team small and the bar high. The people who thrive here are ones who can figure out what needs to exist, build it, and move on to the next thing -- without waiting to be told what that is. The Role We're looking for a Finance & Accounting Lead to own the full finance function at Mind Robotics, and build it right. This is an individual contributor role. You will be the first dedicated finance hire at a Series A robotics company that is scaling fast, pre-revenue, and operating at the intersection of hardware, software, and manufacturing. You will build the financial infrastructure we need to operate with clarity and scale with confidence. The right person for this role has done something like this before, not necessarily at the same company, but in the same phase. You understand what it means to be the only finance person in the room: when to build a system, when to use a spreadsheet, and how to prioritize when everything feels urgent. You implement infrastructure first, and you don't wait for a team to get things done. You will report to the Head of Strategy & Business Operations. This is not a role for someone who wants to inherit a mature function or manage a team on day one. There is no existing finance org to slot into. You will be building the foundation: systems, processes, controls, and reporting from scratch.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, or a high-intensity BizOps or strategy role at a tech or hardware company.
  • Recent MBA graduates or candidates graduating summer 2026 welcome; equally interested in candidates who went straight into the work.
  • Strong analytical toolkit: you can build a model, structure an ambiguous problem, and translate the output into a clear recommendation.
  • Excellent written communication: you write clearly, concisely, and without jargon. You can convey complicated, ambiguous topics in simple, persuasive terms for teammates, cross-functional partners, and leadership.
  • You default to figuring things out, not waiting to be told how.
  • You flex into different domains based on what the business needs, not what's comfortable.
  • You're comfortable operating with incomplete information and you know when to move and when to ask.
  • You have genuine intellectual curiosity about how businesses and systems work -- and a specific interest in physical AI, robotics, or hardware-software systems.
  • You don't need structure to be productive and you don't create bureaucracy to feel busy.
  • You can go from high-level strategy to the nitty-gritty blocking and tackling of actually building things, and you don't consider either beneath you.
