About The Position

In a team-oriented work environment, this role involves installing parts and components, lines, and cables in an assigned area. The mechanic will use required tools, follow prints, specifications, and operational requirements to complete assigned work through final inspection, ensuring conformance to specifications. The position is full-time and involves assembling, installing, and adjusting aircraft structure parts and system components. Responsibilities include rigging control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear, doors, engines, and cowls. The role also entails removing and replacing linkage, sectors, and components, as well as cutting and fitting system lines and associated hardware for basic repairs. The mechanic is responsible for the quality and efficiency of installations, ensuring all parts and assemblies meet requirements and performing necessary rework. They will install systems lines, valves, ducts, and associated parts, working to ensure a leak-free system. A variety of tools and equipment will be used, including permaswage pumps, dies, line cutting tools, wrenches, checking tools, and witness gauges. The mechanic will also remove and replace, cut and fit systems lines, panels, and structural components for basic repairs. Maintaining logs and records, such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, and PCOs, is required. The mechanic must check their own work for defect-free installation before final inspection and maintain an orderly work area, supporting FOD and 5S programs, and complying with safety regulations. Demonstrating Gulfstream Manufacturing competencies is part of the employee effectiveness review. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, flight tests on aircraft may be included. The job requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
1 year aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc.
Familiar with the use of common hand tools.
Familiar with reading and interpreting work orders.
Requires ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams and use all tools required to do the job.
Ability to perform work such as basic drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small-space restricted areas and lift up to 50 lbs.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

A&P license may offset the one year of experience required.
Solumina and Smarteam experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, and adjust aircraft structure parts and system components.
Rig control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear and doors, engines, cowls, aircraft entry doors and associated parts and hardware.
Remove and replace linkage, sectors, components, cut and fit system lines and associated hardware necessary to facilitate and perform basic repairs.
Responsible for quality and efficiency of all installations; ensure all parts/assembly meet requirements.
Perform necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity.
Install systems lines, valves, ducts and associated parts and hardware.
Work to ensure a leak free system.
Use a variety of tools and equipment, including permaswage pumps, dies, line cutting tools, wrenches, checking tools, witness gauges, etc. and tools to successfully complete component and perform minor structure installation.
Remove and replace, cut and fit systems lines, panels and structural components and associated hardware necessary to facilitate and perform basic repairs.
Update and sign required logs and records as required.
Check own work to ensure a defect free installation prior to final inspection.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs and comply with all safety regulations.
Demonstrate Gulfstream Manufacturing competencies in the employee effectiveness review.
Maintain and use all logs and records such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.
Support continuous improvement processes as assigned.
In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
