About The Position

In a team-oriented work environment, install parts and components, lines, cables, etc. in the assigned area using required tools and appropriate prints, specifications, and operational requirements to complete assigned work through final inspection and assure conformance to specifications. This role involves assembling, installing, and adjusting aircraft structure parts and system components. It includes rigging control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, landing gear and doors, engines, cowls, aircraft entry doors, and associated parts and hardware. The mechanic will also remove and replace linkage, sectors, components, cut and fit system lines, and associated hardware necessary for basic repairs. Responsibilities include ensuring the quality and efficiency of all installations, verifying that parts/assemblies meet requirements, and performing necessary rework. The role also involves installing systems lines, valves, ducts, and associated parts and hardware, working to ensure a leak-free system. A variety of tools and equipment will be used, including permaswage pumps, dies, line cutting tools, wrenches, checking tools, and witness gauges. The mechanic will also remove and replace, cut and fit systems lines, panels, and structural components and associated hardware for basic repairs. Maintaining and using logs and records such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc., is required. The position also requires checking one's own work for defect-free installation before final inspection, maintaining an orderly work area, supporting FOD and 5S programs, and complying with safety regulations. Demonstrating Gulfstream Manufacturing competencies in the employee effectiveness review is also part of the role. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, flight tests on aircraft may be included. The position requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
1 year aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience such as auto mechanics, heavy equipment, etc.
Able to work in confined spaces.
Requires ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams and use all tools required to do the job.
Ability to perform work such as basic drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small-space restricted areas and lift up to 50 lbs.
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

Wireharness / systems work experience preferred.
A&P license may offset the one year of experience required.
Solumina and Smarteam experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Update and sign required logs and records as required.
Check own work to ensure a defect free installation prior to final inspection.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs and comply with all safety regulations.
Demonstrate Gulfstream Manufacturing competencies in the employee effectiveness review.
Maintain and use all logs and records such as MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, etc.
Support continuous improvement processes as assigned.
In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
