About The Position

This role involves inspecting zippers for defects, verifying that the correct item and order are being prepared for shipment to the customer. The packer will pack zippers into finished goods boxes, create labels using a computer, and attach all necessary paperwork for the shipping department. All tasks require maintaining the correct item identification tag/card with the correct item and packing the item according to the packing style specified on the job card. Each box will be stamped and initialed as final approval by the inspector.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED (minimum)
Able to push metal carts that weigh 400lbs

Responsibilities

Inspects zipper for defects.
Verifies correct item and order is being sent out to the customer.
Packs zippers into finished goods boxes.
Makes labels on the computer and attaches all paperwork for shipping department.
Keeps the correct item identification tag/card with the correct item.
Identifies the correct packing style as stated on the job card and packs the item out accordingly.
Stamps and initials each box as final approval by the inspector.
Verifies the color versus the job card using the color book and sample.
Verifies the length versus the job card.
Verifies the quantity in each box using the scale.
Verifies the slider is correct in each box using the slider catalog.
Verifies the item is correct insertion versus the job card.
Returns boxes with non-conforming tags to the inspection and packing workstation to be corrected if a defect is found.
Fills out a Return Materials for Defects sheet and notifies management immediately.
Scans for outside labels and DC sheet and places them on the box to be shipped.
Stamps each box approved by the final packer.
Places the box on a pallet for shipping to the customer.
Pushes metal carts that weigh 400 lbs to the designated packing table.
Performs any other related work as required by management.
