About The Position

The Final Assembler is responsible for the final assembly and verification of trolleys and equipment for the airline catering. Each group of trolleys is assembled according to the type and size of the aircraft for which they are being used. A Final Assembler may assemble up to 100 flights per shift working either as a team.

Requirements

Drivers license class 5 requied

Responsibilities

Checking flight bill – the worker reviews the flight bills to determine what items are required for each flight. The trolley as a height is 36 inches high, which may require the worker to bend slightly to verify the bottom shelfs. This activity is done intermittently throughout the day and the bending is not required for any prolonged periods of time.
Assembling flights –trolleys are brought over to the assembly area by the make & pack department, some will be provided by the pick& pack department and other equipment by the galley department. The assembler stages the trolleys according to flight number. Headsets, hampers and satchels are added, as requested, to the trolleys to complete the flight. Once verified as per customer specification and confirmed safe and secure the final assembler will seal and apply locks as per regulation. Fully assembled flights are pushed into the cold room to await pickup. The worker marks the flight complete on the SACS tablet or a board in the final assembly area.
