About The Position

WEG is seeking a Final Assembler for the A/C position on the 2nd shift. This role is for individuals with mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a desire for a serious career opportunity. The assembler will perform various tasks in the production of transformers, including interpreting technical documents, assembling components, installing auxiliary devices, performing rework and repairs, preparing units for shipment, and ensuring quality through leak detection and record maintenance. Requirements

  • Complies with WEG Code of Ethics & Values, 4th Edition, and understands the role is Safety Sensitive with a drug panel including THC.
  • Can interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and perform basic math.
  • Holds current work authorization for employment in the U.S.
  • Available for evening or night shifts, and limited over-time, including weekends if necessary.
  • Resides or plans to reside within commuting distance of Washington, Missouri.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic English communications.

  • Previous manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and interpret BOM (Bill of Material), drawings, schematics, work instructions, and specifications to complete assignments independently.
  • Select and prepare necessary materials, tools, and equipment, and assemble sub-assemblies as required, including the assembly of air compartments onto transformer tanks and other components.
  • Install and verify the correct installation of auxiliary devices, and torque mark all bolted connections.
  • Dismantle, rework, and repair units as required, both inside and outside the tank.
  • Prepare unit for painting, including cover prep and priming, operate lifting devices as needed, and finish unit for shipment.
  • Help identify and report oil leaks, liaise with the leak repair welder, and maintain quality and production records.
