About The Position

The Financial Analyst III role is responsible for leading the development of entity or system-wide budgets and multi-year forecasts. This position will design and oversee cost accounting methodologies and decision support tools, and prepare comprehensive proformas for major capital investments and strategic initiatives. The analyst will conduct in-depth financial modeling and scenario analysis for executive decision-making, and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and board committees. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and training Financial Analyst I and II team members, leading special projects, and ensuring positive customer relations interactions. The role also emphasizes fostering a sense of urgency, maintaining high productivity, independent problem-solving, establishing a safe feedback culture, following through on commitments, taking personal responsibility, and adapting to change. The analyst must operate as a team player with expertise in financial modeling, capital planning, and advanced analytics, along with strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Sufficient knowledge to work efficiently with indirect supervision
  • Strong personal computer and analytical skills
  • Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency required
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to concentrate on tasks including fine detail for extended periods of time
  • Willing and able to take initiative to solve problems, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and act independently without direct supervision for complete follow-through
  • Expertise in financial modeling, capital planning, and advanced analytics
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables and formulas, preferred
  • PowerPoint experience preferred
  • Flexible to work extended hours when deadlines require

Responsibilities
