About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to produce labeled containers and packages finished material by filling proper containers in preparation for storage in the warehouse or shipment to a customer. This role involves following company regulations regarding safety, quality, maintenance, and housekeeping, while efficiently using materials and equipment. The Filling Technician is responsible for accurately filling containers by weight, operating and cleaning filling machinery, and preparing materials for storage or shipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Willingness to wear PPE (like a respirator) and use equipment like drum dollies and forklifts (we’ll train you!)

Responsibilities

  • Produces labeled containers and packages finished material by filling proper containers in preparation for storage in the warehouse or shipment to a customer.
  • Follows company regulations with respect to safety, quality, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment, and housekeeping.
  • Keeps department records as required.
  • Uses materials, equipment, and facilities in an efficient and conscientious manner.
  • Works assigned hours and overtime as required.
  • Suggests to department Lead Person or Supervisor improvements in job methods, equipment, and procedures.
  • Provides containers as needed for the storage area.
  • Checks containers to be filled for cleanliness and prepares other containers for filling.
  • Sets up pump and filters as required.
  • Fills containers by weight as instructed on the Batch-ticket.
  • Operates, assembles, disassembles, and cleans pump filter, filling machines and tanks.
  • Palletizes all filled materials for forklift handling.
  • Takes retains as instructed and identifies them.
  • Washes equipment, tanks, and other machinery within the department.
  • Keeps working area clean and neat.
  • Ensures all labor hours and filling records are properly documented.
  • Follows HMIS Safety Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Person or Supervisor.
