About The Position

The Filling Hauler is responsible for doffing rolls of cloth off the take-up and replacing them with an empty tube. This role involves preparing paperwork, transporting cloth to the grading frame using a battery-operated hand truck, and ensuring all safety procedures are followed. The Filling Hauler must also check warps on looms before doffing large rolls and adhere to all safety rules prescribed by the Harris Plant, including working safely around moving parts and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements

Reads basic written instructions and writes legibly
Understands verbal instructions
Distinguishes colors in stock-in-process and waste
Wears ear plugs/muffs, respirator/dust mask, goggles/eye protection, and other protective pieces of equipment

Responsibilities

Safely operates battery powered hand truck
Doffs full roll of cloth from take-up and replaces with empty tube
Records loom #, date, etc. on paperwork
Transports cloth roll to grading frame
Stamps cloth with appropriate shift at end of each day, being careful not to spill ink on floor, cloth
Checks warps on all looms before doffing big rolls. Must not doff these if they are about to warp out.
Follows safety rules prescribed by the Harris Plant
Works safely around moving parts
Reads basic written instructions and writes legibly
Understands verbal instructions
Distinguishes colors in stock-in-process and waste
