Fills and seals cans or pouches to meet product specifications. This role involves running and making machine changeovers according to schedules, verifying that pouches or lids meet batch sheet requirements, and feeding them to the seamer. The operator will monitor and record pouch or can information, run QC inspector samples for seam tear-down monitoring, and verify proper product amounts, making adjustments as needed per quality control instructions. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean work area during downtime and changeovers, performing weekly sanitation, and participating as a team member in ongoing development and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. The role requires coordination with team members to ensure best practices, attendance at team meetings, and fostering strong cohesiveness within the team. The employee must be familiar with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understand their responsibility to maintain this familiarity and their role in supporting these systems, including communicating concerns and improvement ideas.
