About The Position

This position runs the filler and seamer machine to meet product specifications. The operator is responsible for ensuring the correct product amounts are filled and sealed, making adjustments as needed, and maintaining a clean work environment. The role also involves participating as a team member, adhering to Simmons operating systems, and performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Experienced within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

Runs machine and makes changeovers per scheduling.
Verify the pouches or lids staged conform to the batch sheet and feed lids or pouches to the seamer.
Monitor and record pouch or can information.
Run QC inspector samples for seam tear down monitor and record.
Verify proper product amounts.
Makes adjustments to can or pouch weights per quality control instruction.
Keep the area clean in down time and changeover events.
Perform weekly sanitation.
Participates as a member of the team.
Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure best practices with all team members.
Attends appropriate team meetings.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and works with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforce actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
