About The Position

The Filler Operator tends machines that perform one or more packaging functions, such as filling, marking, and labeling. This role involves starting the machine, observing its operation to detect malfunctions, and stopping the machine and reporting any issues to a supervisor. Various machines are involved in this operation, including the 30 Valve filler, Quart filler, Nep filler, Bulk filler, 18 Valve plastic filler, and the 1/2 Gallon paper filler. The position requires tending machines that fill pasteurized products into containers, examining containers for seals, labels, weights, dates, and valves, and checking seals for stains and valves for excess leakage. The operator will also review with the lab for approvals of each product change on each machine, observe the flow of milk into the machine, remove defective containers, and notify the foreman of machine malfunctions. Additionally, the role involves placing containers on the machine, adjusting machines of various sizes, and recording information in 15-minute intervals for weight, date, and label.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or International Education Equivalent.
  • Related experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

  • It also requires reaching and handling dairy products and pushing and pulling stacks of products weighing up to 200lbs.

Responsibilities
