About The Position

Conagra Brands in Darien, WI, a local supplier of Birds Eye products, is seeking qualified individuals to fill a Filler Operator role in the production department for D shift. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate filling, sealing, and packaging of products while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will operate in a fast-paced environment and play an essential role in the performance of the production line. This is a full-time, on-site position.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet physical requirements and perform all duties safely.

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn: Food handling and packaging, Safe working practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, Manufacturing control points and practices, Quality control points and practices, Critical control points and practices, Bloodborne pathogen control practices, Allergen control practices.
  • Ability to work well with others as part of a production team.
  • Ability to use hand tools effectively.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions, manuals, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of mathematics including weights, measures, time, codes, and quantity estimation.
  • Ability to maintain required production average for all products assigned.
  • Reliable and consistent attendance with strong attention to duties.
  • Ability to work accurately with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow production schedule instructions accurately.
  • Set up, operate, adjust, and repair filling line equipment including feeds, scales, automatic fillers, film, film placement, backseals, endseals, weight settings, production codes, metal detectors, and checkweighers to meet all requirements and specifications.
  • Monitor and verify proper setup of the veg mix system, case erector, conveyors, case coder, auto casers or hand casers, case taper, and palletizer; assist or request assistance as needed.
  • Monitor and adjust all line functions to ensure packaging units meet or exceed production and quality specifications.
  • Maintain optimum machine efficiency by minimizing downtime and reducing product or material loss.
  • Coordinate and operate the production line during startup, production, changeovers, and shutdown.
  • Monitor and provide direction to line workers on proper line operations.
  • Maintain adequate levels of packaging materials, ingredients, products, and finished goods to support uninterrupted production.
  • Stop production and report any serious deviations from specifications or equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area.
  • Maintain accurate production records including Darview entries, scanner testing results, roll change reports, and any other required documentation.
  • Tear down and prepare equipment for cleaning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
