About The Position

This is a night shift role with hours 5PM - 5:30AM on a rotating 2/2/3 schedule. Training on dayshift, Monday-Friday, 5AM - 1:30PM is required for the first several weeks. The Filler Machine Operator will operate and monitor production filler equipment to ensure food safety, product quality, and conformity to customer standards and specifications. This role involves safely and efficiently setting up, operating, and cleaning filler machines/equipment, and requires proficiency in Sterilization-In-Place (SIP) and/or Clean-In-Place (CIP) of assigned filler machines. Effective communication and coordination with other departments are essential for ensuring product is filled and supplied according to the production schedule, product end of run, and product changeovers. The operator must follow all Chart Recording guidelines, ensure accuracy and completion of all required documentation, charts, and records, and audit records at the end of each shift. Proficiency with computer-based software and automated control systems is necessary, as is supporting internal and external compliance audits. Responsibilities also include performing equipment CIP/SIP/(Clean-out-of-place (COP)/Sanitation and completing department clean-up and general housekeeping as required, performing routine equipment adjustments, and executing all required department environment controls. Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)/Food Safety/Allergen policies, employee Health and Safety policies, and wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are mandatory. The role involves identifying and communicating out-of-specification product conditions, following established notification protocols, accurately completing production records, and adhering to all established occupational health and safety procedures. Safe operation of lift trucks and material handling equipment, cross-training with other departments, and maintaining good housekeeping are also key duties. The operator must adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply Saputo values, working professionally in a team environment. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of (2)-two years of demonstrated work experience in food manufacturing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong technical skills, ability to operate and understand equipment controls, touch panels and mechanical operations.
  • Ability to achieve lift truck certification and safely operate lift trucks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work history.
  • Consistent attendance is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced training with a concentration in dairy science, a plus.
