About The Position
Join the team that keeps Oregon’s rest areas clean, safe, and welcoming! As a Rest Area Technician with the Oregon Travel Information Council (TIC), you’ll help travelers, maintain essential facilities, and play a vital role in public safety. This fill-in position offers flexible scheduling, you work as needed, including weekends and holidays. Perfect for extra hours or flexible work!
Requirements
- Works well independently and with others
- Friendly, approachable, and able to assist the public, law enforcement, and staff
- Experience (or ability) in janitorial tasks, basic repairs, and groundskeeping
- Reliable, follows instructions, and completes tasks accurately
- Must reside within 60 minutes of the rest area
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state where the employee resides
- Finalists will be subject to a computerized criminal history check
Responsibilities
- Maintain restrooms, buildings, and grounds clean and safe
- Conduct security checks to ensure visitor safety
- Perform minor repairs and general maintenance
- Keep walkways, roadways, and parking areas clear
