Visit our website at www.compassinterventioncenter.com. The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for Process Release of Information Requests. Perform Chart Assembly to ensure 100% compliance. Perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the facility. Key Responsibilities include: The Medical Records Clerk key responsibilities consists of the following: Is willing to assume additional responsibilities as assigned. Maintains confidentiality of former and current patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Respects and safeguards the confidentiality and privacy of Hospital and co-worker information. Maintains composure during stressful interactions. Familiar with medical coding. Demonstrates willingness to accept changes in job responsibilities. Maintains a positive working relationship with co-workers. Demonstrates a “team player” approach. Copies and mails/faxes records for requests needed immediately. Answers the telephone and provides assistance or receives messages, as appropriate. Communicate effectively, orally and written, with staff and physicians in a professional and cooperative manner regarding the process of release of confidential information and incomplete medical records. Demonstrate ability to utilize various computer programs including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and Excel. Accurately file documents into individual medical records Assist with general medical records department functions including purging of records, loose filing, etc. Assemble charts upon discharge. Carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director or designee.
