About The Position

Wor-Wic Community College is seeking a full-time, 12-month occupational therapy assistant faculty member to coordinate student clinical placements. This role involves instructing classes, reviewing curricula, contributing to the department, advising students on fieldwork performance, developing new clinical sites, ensuring compliance with fieldwork-related accreditation requirements, providing educational programs for fieldwork educators, and conducting on-site clinical visits. This position is part of the WWCCFA bargaining unit and offers excellent fringe benefits. The starting salary varies based on faculty rank, ranging from $63,000 to $105,000.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree awarded by a USDE accredited institution.
  • Occupational therapist license (OTR/L) or occupational therapy assistant license (COTA/L).
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate student clinical placements.
  • Instruct classes.
  • Review curricula.

  • Provide educational programs for fieldwork educators.

  • Prepare and use course syllabi.
  • Use approved technology.
  • Meet all scheduled learning experiences, including the final examination.
  • Maintain student records.
  • Post and maintain scheduled office hours.
  • Update course syllabi.
  • Provide copies of tests or assignments when requested.
  • Submit attendance rosters, midterm grades, and final grades within the established time frame.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the annual course and programmatic assessment process and comprehensive program reviews.
  • Solicit information from other faculty about their needs in teaching the courses they coordinate.
  • Complete necessary budget forms to obtain materials.
  • Engage in professional development activities.
  • Maintain a record of professional development activities.
  • Include professional development reports in individual evaluations.
  • Share information from professional development activities with peers and the College.
  • Advance College initiatives.
  • Support the College's mission and programmatic accreditation.
  • Improve the overall College experience.
  • Influence or impact the College and/or student performance.
  • Elevate the institution.
  • Implement innovation or high-quality work on behalf of the College.
  • Consult, assist, and support the academic advising center.
  • Assist the department head with the requisition of materials, supplies, textbooks, and equipment.
  • Assist with registration procedures.
  • Attend departmental meetings and serve on appropriate departmental committees.
  • Participate in on-site and off-site promotional/recruiting activities.
  • Participate in program and curriculum development and coordination.
  • Contribute to the program review.
  • Work with professionals in the faculty member’s field of study and with the department’s program advisory committee.
  • Contribute to the annual, interim/midcycle, and five-year comprehensive program review report.
  • Attend all institutional meetings called by the dean, the vice president for academic affairs or the president.
  • Attend in-service sessions.
  • Serve on institutional committees.
  • Participate in peer evaluation of design skills.
  • Attend graduation ceremonies.
  • Participate in other institutional service activities assigned by the College’s Executive Leadership team.
