Field Welder/Line Bore Technician- CDL
About The Position
Linder Industrial Machinery Company is seeking a Field Welder/Line Bore Technician. This role is responsible for designing, fabricating, joining, and repairing equipment, fixtures, and structures using various welding techniques. The position involves field welding, including line boring services, and operating various shop equipment and hand tools. The ideal candidate will analyze plans and specifications to determine work requirements, estimate materials and labor, and recommend supplies. This is a field-based role with exposure to various work environments and physical demands.
Requirements
- Must have prior welding experience
- Knowledge of applicable codes
- Proficient in welding techniques (oxygen-acetylene, electric car, and TIG), tools and equipment
- Skilled in the fabrication, joining and repair of a variety of metal objects, equipment, fixtures and structures
- Must have LINE boring experience
- MUST HAVE CDL B with Air Brake Endorsement
Responsibilities
- Responsible for field welding to include line boring services (where applicable)
- Designs, fabricates, joins, and/or repairs equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures utilizing oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG and TIG welding techniques
- Operates drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes and a variety of welding equipment and hand tools
- Analyzes plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding projects
- Estimates material and labor
- Recommends supplies and materials to be ordered
- Other functions and responsibilities as requested by management
