About The Position

This 12-month maternity cover role reports to the Companion Animal Technical Lead and works closely with Regional Sales and Technical Product Support Managers. The position provides specialist veterinary expertise on companion animal products, focusing on field-based activities, technical training, and in-field support for the sales team. It also involves developing relationships with Specialists/Key Opinion Leaders and implementing the technical strategy to meet company objectives. The role is field-based and requires significant travel within and sometimes outside the territory for customer visits, sales meetings, and other activities.

Requirements

  • A UK-recognised veterinary degree and Member of the Royal College of Veterinary (MRCVS).
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • Significant experience working within UK Companion Animal First Opinion Practice.
  • Ability to communicate technical training in a relevant, effective, and engaging format to varied audience members.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English.
  • Persuasive and able to successfully influence others.
  • Good time-management, project-management, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to brief and manage relationships with external stakeholders and influencers.
  • Ability to handle confidential issues.
  • Ability to operate and communicate effectively at various levels, both within and outside of the Company.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical training and support to veterinary practice teams to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers (RSM) and Account Managers to build and drive account plans for the territory.
  • Develop technical programs that add value to key veterinary practices.
  • Develop and maintain the sales team's technical knowledge in collaboration with the RSM and Lead Field Veterinary Advisor.
  • Identify technical training needs and deliver comprehensive in-house technical training on small animal products and markets.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for complex technical queries, training, and support needs.
  • Provide feedback on relevant technical and marketing intelligence to head office teams.
  • Ensure all activities comply with the National Office of Animal Health (NOAH) code of practice and pharmacovigilance requirements.
  • Respond to companion animal technical queries or complaints on a daytime-only rota to provide professional sales support.
  • Manage technical inquiries forwarded from the Technical Product Support (TPS) Team in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all cases are correctly entered on the Salesforce CRM reporting system.
  • Liaise with brand technical leads to inform and develop Key Opinion Leader (KOL) plans in universities, veterinary practices, and other institutions.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for collaboration with KOLs.
  • Participate in key business meetings, both local and international.
  • Attend evening and weekend meetings, which may require overnight stays.
