About The Position

Picture your morning: you roll out in a Caltrol service truck, route planned for a customer site where a control valve is holding up production. You diagnose, repair, verify performance, and keep operations flowing—then head to the next site or swing by a Caltrol shop to refurbish actuators and instrumentation. That’s a day in the life of our Field Valve & Instrumentation Service Specialist.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • 2–3 years in field service, instrumentation, or equivalent electro-mechanical experience.
  • 2–3 years specifically working with control valves.
  • Deep knowledge of valve actuators, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
  • MUST have a valid Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and safe company-vehicle operation.
  • MUST be able to stay Active on ASAP/DISA background and drug screening.
  • Clear, professional communication—written and verbal—with a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Spend most days in the field, safely operating a Caltrol company truck to deliver onsite service.
  • Support customers and Caltrol sites across our West Coast territory (AZ, CA, NV); occasional overnights may occur.
  • Repair and overhaul valves, actuators (pneumatic, hydraulic), and instrumentation—both onsite and in the Caltrol shop.
  • Handle local valve pick-up and delivery for customers.
  • Help maintain shop equipment and work areas when in the shop.
  • Keep current on classes, certifications, and training required for entry to customer facilities.
