About The Position

We are seeking a Field Validator to join our team in Portland, OR. The Field Validator role has a core responsibility to conduct on-site verification and validation of installed materials, ensuring actual field installations match contractor Bills of Materials (BOMs). The Field Validator will work closely with project teams, contractors, and quality assurance personnel to verify installation accuracy and maintain project integrity. Your role Day-to-day responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Conduct field inspections to verify installed cable lengths, materials, and components against contractor BOMs. Measure and document actual installed quantities using appropriate field measurement tools and techniques. Compare field measurements with approved BOMs, drawings, and specifications. Identify and document discrepancies between planned and actual installations. Prepare detailed field validation reports with photographic evidence and measurements when needed. Ensure all field documentation is complete and accessible in company repository. Coordinate with contractors to resolve installation discrepancies and non-conformances. Maintain accurate field documentation and measurement logs. Support project close-out activities through final installation verification. Interface with project managers, contractors, and quality control teams regarding field findings. Maintain current knowledge of relevant installation standards and measurement practices. Support change order validation through field verification of scope changes. Conduct pre-demolition walk-downs to validate lengths and materials scheduled for de-installation. Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; 2+ years relevant field experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in field inspection, quality control, or construction validation preferred.
  • Working knowledge of construction materials and installation methods.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Thorough understanding of construction industry standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Physical ability to work in various field conditions and construction environments.
  • Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with systematic approach to field verification and strong analytical abilities.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Must have excellent communication and documentation skills necessary to interface with contractors, project teams, suppliers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently in field environments while maintaining high accuracy standards, and willing to escalate when issues arise.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and documentation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for contractor coordination.
  • Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for report preparation.
