Requirements

  • Demonstratable expertise in boiler and steam cycle electricity generating systems
  • Demonstratable expertise in FGT pollution control
  • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge in order to understand and recommend problem solutions
  • Willingness to participate in related professional groups in order understand and influence technical discussion
  • Prepared to travel at least 50% of the work week, with some possible weekend time
  • Strong written, reading and verbal skills
  • Perform all job duties safely and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Follow instructions and adapt to changes in work assignments or priorities.

  • Will be working in both an office environment and in a mining environment, which may include exposure to: temperature extremes, noise, uneven surfaces, vibration, oils, and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and metallic particles.
  • Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of background check and/or drug screening (if applicable).
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or shifts as required by business needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% as needed with some weekend time, and/or directed by leadership.
  • Bachelor Science
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with air emission control technology/application engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project specific test protocols for the use of limestone and lime products for multipollutant mitigation
  • Visit the potential application site and determine the appropriate application approach
  • Assess the need and propose a number of possible solutions
  • Present the solutions to the prospect
  • Execute the trial
  • With the New Business Development FGT Team participate in the development of the 5 year plan for business growth
  • Maintain and develop a full roster of professional contacts within the industry, participate within professional groups
  • Keep up to date on technical innovations within the industry
  • Have a thorough understanding of the legislative and regulatory drivers for the industry
  • Participate in appropriate consensus organizations such as ASTM in order to understand and participate in the process
  • Develop and Maintain an expert level of understanding of value in use (VIU) of LNA products for FGT
  • Understand and follow the manufacturing process of the products being sold
  • Understand the nature and use of competitive products
  • Learn/develop the analytical procedures necessary to asses the products being sold.
  • Develop and Maintain a strong working relationship with internal and external experts
  • Develop and Maintain relationship with Lhoist R&D laboratory to be able to piggyback on previous experience and provide expertise
  • Develop and maintain a full range of external analytical laboratories and research centers (commercial and academic) to complete necessary studies which cannot be conducted internally
  • Develop the analytical expertise within the LNA laboratory.
  • Plan and organize a analytical unit
  • Supervise technical staff to carry out required analysis
  • Work with laboratory manager to ensure that equipment is in good working order
  • Provide direction for the development or application of a new technique
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
