About The Position

The Field Training Officer (FTO) serves as the principal training resource for a datacenter campus or metro location. In addition to providing training, job functions may include problem resolution, service enhancement, and process improvement as it pertains to security operations, safety, and training. The Field Training Officer reports directly to the Field Training Manager (FTM), and will work closely with other sites, regional, and headquarter leadership. This position will have no direct reports but will work closely with campus and sub-regional training leadership to assess employees, site, and campus needs.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in the security industry, business operations, or a similar environment.
  • 2+ years of training or instructional experience.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Frequent travel, approximately 50% of the time, including travel between sites—sometimes with limited notice—and occasional travel between regions or countries to support operational needs.
  • Valid passport.
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (such as during emergencies or high-priority events).
  • Reliable means of communication and transportation (public or private) to travel to and from work.
  • Legal right to work in the country where the position is located.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English and the common local language (where applicable).
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willing to complete the company’s pre-employment screening, including a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding and ongoing training at the site, campus, and country level.
  • Train and certify new security personnel.
  • Deliver refresher and sustainment training.
  • Ensure officers consistently meet required security standards.
  • Evaluate performance during training.
  • Maintain accurate training records and certifications.
  • Track training completion for all security personnel.
  • Maintain required training and safety documentation in line with established policies and procedures.
  • Conduct recurring training audits.
  • Prepare and submit required reports.
  • Handle critical or confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Promote safety awareness across the campus.
  • Champion global and regional safety initiatives.
  • Identify security or safety gaps and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Work with campus security leadership to support individual development plans for officers and provide feedback on competence, compliance, and morale.
  • Collaborate with local leadership, the PMO training team, and program leadership to develop site-specific training plans.
  • Recommend onboarding and training schedules.
  • Support compliance-related tools and processes.
  • Communicate with client representatives and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead in-person and virtual training sessions, presentations, and group meetings.
  • Support additional tasks as needed to help meet ongoing operational requirements.
