About The Position

The Field Trainee position is responsible for maintaining control of various stages of chemical production, including conversion of caprolactam through hydrolysis and poly condensation, extrusion, leaching, drying, finishing into blending and packaging. The role also involves managing multiple utility systems, monitoring control information, and making necessary adjustments to ensure quality and adherence to standard operating procedures. Safety and environmental protection are paramount, requiring adherence to safety standards, emergency procedures, and spill prevention. The position may also include performing minor maintenance and additional responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience or an Associate’s Degree or higher in a technical or science related field
  • Must be willing and able to work a 8-hour rotating shift environment that includes holidays, weekends, and required overtime
  • Proficiency with a computer, including programs such as Word and Excel
  • Must be able to complete a background check and drug test successfully
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must be willing and able to work in a team environment
  • Must meet minimum physical requirements needed to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

  • 3 – 5 yrs. of chemical plant experience preferred
  • Experience working in control room operations operating from Distributed Control Systems
  • Ability to understand a multi-step chemical process
  • Previous experience testing samples in a lab
  • Previous experience operating a forklift
  • Have a strong work ethic and adapt quickly to new processes
  • Ability to create and maintain a safe work space based on company standards
  • Ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action within an industrial setting
  • Ability to communicate through multiple layers of an organization

Responsibilities

  • Maintain control of the conversion of caprolactam through hydrolysis and poly condensation, extrusion, leaching, and drying, finishing into blending and packaging.
  • Maintain control of multiple utility systems to support the operation areas.
  • Monitor control information for an area and make adjustments as necessary to operate equipment and facilities, ensuring quality and conformance with standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain safety standards at all times and initiates and follows emergency procedures when necessary.
  • Responsible for preventing spills and adhering to our commitment to protect the environment.
  • Perform minor maintenance work.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed.
