About The Position

Corteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a Field Testing Specialist based in York, Nebraska. The Field Testing Specialist position will serve as an integral team member of a comprehensive research station providing support for all station operations. The ideal candidate must have knowledge and experience about the agriculture industry and a high aptitude for attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in agriculture or scientific related field plus 2-4 years industry related experience.
  • Keen knowledge of agronomy, crop production, plant development, and experimental field plot design.
  • Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication/personal interaction skills to foster teamwork, enhance a positive work environment, and effectively develop strong internal and external working relationships with a diverse group of people.
  • Experience and skills with computers and data management.
  • Experience operating planting and harvest equipment including electronics, GPS systems and data collection systems.
  • Demonstrate skills in leadership, operational safety, supervision, and time management.
  • Must be capable of working in varying ergonomic and environmental conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate pesticide applicator license/certification.
  • Valid drivers license required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the York Research Center operations with multi crop seed filling, seed preparation and data collection.
  • Skilled in operating planting, harvesting, and spray equipment as well as specialized remote sensing equipment.
  • Agronomic knowledge of weed control and plot maintenance.
  • Collect data and assess data quality.
  • Assist with experiment planning and mapping.
  • Supervise part-time employee crews to complete field activities according to protocols.
  • Availability for overtime during peak seasons of planting and harvest.
  • 100% site dedicated position.
