The responsibility of the field technician is to perform high quality service and maintenance to the full line of equipment, attachments, and components represented or supported by VCES. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working on construction related equipment.
  • Technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the construction industry.
  • Background with hydraulics and diesel engines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high quality service and maintenance to the full line of equipment, attachments, and components represented or supported by VCES.

  • Maintain excellent customer and employee relations.
  • Work safely at all times. Adhere to all VCES safety guidelines, policies, and practices.
  • Demonstrate safe and proper application of hand, pneumatic and electric tools.
  • Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and provide quality repairs on the full line of products and components represented by VCES.
  • Demonstrate proper application and use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Work primarily in the field environment, but may occasionally assist with repairs in the shop.
  • Possess working knowledge of all equipment systems, including but not limited to hydraulic, air, electrical and lubrication.
  • Work on and around heavy construction equipment, which requires climbing and accessing hard to reach areas.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Possess a set of tools sufficient to perform the job as required and must maintain and secure them properly.
  • Maintain consistent follow through on all job facets, including parts ordering and retrieval, customer follow-up, work order status, etc.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in customer interactions and correspondence.
  • Willingly accept responsibility and be flexible to any assignment.
  • Willingly work overtime when needed to complete an assigned task.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
