About The Position

Pape’ Material Handling, a premier capital equipment dealer in the West, is seeking a skilled and driven Field Technician to join their team in Fremont, CA. This role involves traveling to customer locations to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on material handling equipment. The Field Technician will work on various systems including electric forklift systems, LPG and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, carburetors, electrical and air systems, final drives, and clutches. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment issues, communicating with customers, ensuring high-quality service, and coordinating with the Parts Department for necessary parts. The role emphasizes independence, problem-solving, and building customer relationships.

Requirements

5 or more years of experience diagnosing and repairing equipment, preferably in the material handling industry.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation.
Ability to work under little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Driver’s license with a good driving record.
Must provide own tools.

CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on customer material handling equipment at customer locations.
Diagnose and repair a wide range of systems including electric forklift systems, LPG and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, carburetors, electrical and air systems, final drives, and clutches.
Troubleshoot equipment issues accurately.
Communicate clearly with customers.
Ensure high-quality service is delivered on every visit.
Work with the Parts Department to identify, order, and return parts as needed.
Assist with repairs in the shop occasionally.
