About The Position

This is a field-based position located near Columbus, NM. We're hiring an Entry Level Field Technician to join our team installing security infrastructure and pole-mounted equipment. We're looking for reliable, mechanically-minded individuals who are ready to learn a trade from the ground up (literally, from up to 40 feet in the air). You'll work as part of a two-person crew, building, mounting, and configuring cameras, Wi-Fi equipment, and communications hardware on utility poles — all while following strict safety, quality, and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Comfort working outdoors and at heights
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • 0–2 years in general construction, telecom, low-voltage, security systems, electrical, or utility work
  • Basic understanding of fabrication, construction, or assembly
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to maintain required certifications

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside a lead technician to build, mount, and configure security infrastructure and pole-attached equipment
  • Perform cable routing, termination, labeling, and equipment connections
  • Install cameras, wireless equipment, infrared illuminator sensors, communications devices, brackets, enclosures, and related hardware
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, bucket truck lift, and other installation equipment
  • Make basic electrical and low-voltage connections
  • Help troubleshoot equipment, connectivity, power, and installation issues
  • Inspect completed installations for proper alignment, functionality, and workmanship
  • Read and follow installation drawings, work orders, site plans, and technical documentation
  • Keep accurate installation records, photos, and service documentation
  • Follow OSHA, company, utility, and job-site safety requirements at all times
  • Maintain your tools, vehicle, and equipment
