About The Position

As a Fire Extinguisher Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and servicing fire extinguishing equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Reporting to the Safety Manager, you will utilize your mechanical knowledge and field service skills, along with hand tools and electrical experience, to perform your duties effectively. No prior experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in fire safety. Requirements

  • Willing to train, no experience necessary
  • Hold relevant certifications such as NFPA 10, NYC Fire Department Certificate of Fitness for Fire Extinguisher Inspection and Maintenance (W96), and any other applicable certifications.
  • Strong understanding of fire safety codes and regulations, as well as knowledge of various types of fire extinguisher systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment at least 50lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of fire extinguishers in accordance with local and national regulations.
  • Install new fire extinguishers and replace outdated or damaged units as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and replacements, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any questions or concerns related to fire extinguisher systems.
  • Provide basic training to clients on the proper use and maintenance of fire extinguishers.
