About The Position

Southeast Pipe is a family-friendly, customer-focused business located in Patterson, Georgia, licensed in GA, FL, AL, SC, NC, and TN. Established in 1985, Southeast Pipe was the first full-service sanitary sewer inspection and repair service provider in the Southeastern United States. The Field Support Technician's responsibilities include presenting a professional image, ensuring top-quality work, and adhering to all company policies, procedures, and OHSA regulations. The role involves completing safety-related tasks, maintaining assigned vehicles, preparing job sites, assisting with CIPP liner installation, monitoring tools, and ensuring safe site takedown. The technician will also perform other duties as requested by the Foreman/Crew Leader and self-monitor performance, notifying supervisors when additional training or resources are needed. Performance is measured by the ability to perform in all 10 Competency Areas on the Top Ten Evaluation with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers and other employees of Southeast Pipe Survey, Inc. and its sub-contractors.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to enforce problem solving policies.
  • Drivers License
  • Ability to operate equipment, including heavy equipment, forklifts, and bobcat.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations to assure safety.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands or arms, talk or hear, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 100 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Completes all Safety related tasks, including but not limited to safety trainings, use of PPE and proper setup and takedown of all job sites.
  • Follows established procedures to maintain a high level of quality.
  • Maintains assigned vehicle by keeping fueled, performing pre and post-trip inspection, washing and cleaning, and reporting all issues quickly to the Crew Leader for advisement.
  • Using the weekly work schedule, gathers all necessary tools and supplies, including safety signs and cones, placing everything securely in the appropriate locations.
  • Prepares the job site for safe operations by placing safety cones, barricades and signs, passing out door hangers to notify the public, removing cleanout caps to prevent forced sewer backups, connecting fire hose, cables, and other types of connections needed to perform the work.
  • Provides assistance during CIPP liner installation, curing and cutout while constantly monitoring safety.
  • Monitors usage of tools on the job site and make sure they are placed back into the correct location before leaving, in order to prevent loss or theft.
  • Takes the jobsite down safely for re-mobilizing, making sure to leave the site clean and safe.
  • Any other duties that the Foreman/Crew Leader may request from time to time.
  • Self-monitors own performance. Notifies the Crew Leader and/or Field Supervisor when additional training or resources are needed.
  • Review this job description at least annually and make recommendations for improvement to the Crew Leader.
