About The Position

This is a full-time Field Technician role based out of the 15 Lightyears corporate office in Longwood, FL, with jobs performed in Cape Coral, FL and surrounding areas. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime. The role involves conducting and recording various home energy tests and inspections to qualify homes for certification and code compliance. Specific testing includes Blower door testing, Duct blaster testing, and Airflow measurements. The technician will be responsible for accurate reporting of findings, using company software and mobile tools, managing assignments with minimal supervision, traveling to job sites in a company vehicle, maintaining the vehicle and equipment, following safety protocols, and communicating professionally with various stakeholders.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to work independently and self-manage time and jobs tasks effectively throughout the workday.
Respectful and professional when interacting with clients, coworkers, and job site teams.
Commitment to performing high quality work.
Strong time management, responsible, dependable, and attention to detail.
Comfortable using smartphones, apps, and tablets.
Ability to speak and read English clearly and fluently.
Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Building and residential construction knowledge is preferred.
Previous experience or training in building trades such as roofing, air conditioning, plumbing, construction, electrical is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ensure accurate reporting of findings and testing data.
Use company software and mobile tools to enter, review, and submit inspection results.
Manage day-to-day assignments effectively with minimal supervision.
Travel to and from job sites in a company vehicle (gas and time covered).
Maintain inventory and cleanliness of company vehicle assigned.
Ensure testing equipment is functioning properly; following operating instructions and requesting repairs as needed.
Follow safety protocols and comply with all legal regulations and industry standards.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with: Clients and Site Contacts, Corporate Headquarters & Management, Scheduling Team, and Field Staff.
Arrive on time and ready for daily fieldwork assignments.
Represent 15 Lightyears professionally on every job site.
