About The Position

Working with AGAT Laboratories, you will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering “Service Beyond Analysis.” We are currently seeking a reliable Air Quality Monitoring Field Technician to support our testing via instrumentation, datalogging and with LTE communications as required. The successful candidate will be self-directed, comfortable working alone, have a high attention to detail and to be an effective communicator. A valid drivers license with a clean abstract will be required for this position.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in instrumentation or environmental science
  • Ability to problem solve and multi-task with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be self-directed and accountable for the responsibilities given
  • Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract required
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours is required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with continuous monitoring analyzers or/and fugitive emissions is an asset
  • Training in the following is an asset: WHMIS, H2S Alive, First Aid, Fall Protection, TDG

Responsibilities

  • Complete equipment calibrations according to relevant federal and provincial regulations
  • Complete commissioning and decommissioning of air quality monitoring (AQM) stations, including instrumentation, data management and communications
  • Complete passive AQM sample exchanges in the field
  • Responsible for troubleshooting instrument problems in the field and repairs in the shop
  • Maintain AQM shop instruments, spare parts and consumables
  • Assist senior field technicians with provisioning new projects, including AQM station construction
  • Interact with AGAT clients regarding AQM and other related AGAT services
  • Available to be on call after regular work hours and on weekends
  • Driving frequently and on occasion for long hours; may require overnight stay
  • Maintain all safety equipment, tool box maintenance and ensure tickets and certifications are kept up to date
  • Truck maintenance and inspections
  • Responsible for shop and AQM station cleanliness
  • Provide accurate documentation for reporting calibrations and maintenance work
