About The Position
EXP is seeking a Field Technician to join their Geotechnical team in Kingston, ON. This role involves working on various projects, executing on-site concrete and soil tests, performing soil sampling and asphalt hot-mix sampling, and some in-lab work. The technician will also interact with on-site clients to provide excellent service and quick response to their testing needs.
Requirements
- Strong people skills, and ability to work with wide variety of staff and clients
- Ability to communicate (verbally/writing) in English for field and formal reports
- Strong general math skills
- Must have a valid Canadian driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- 2-5 years of experience in concrete/soils/asphalt testing experience would be advantageous
- Diploma from an accredited Civil Technology program or equivalent would be an asset
- CCIL or ACI Certification would be preferred
Responsibilities
- Executing on site concrete tests which includes casting cylinders, slump test, and air content tests
- Perform soil compaction tests on various construction sites
- Executing soil sampling and asphalt hot-mix sampling on site
- Some in-lab work, such as testing cylinders, gradation analysis, proctors, etc
- Interact with the on-site clients (contractors) to provide excellent service and a quick response to their testing needs
