About The Position

Intertek is seeking an Entry-Level Field Technician to join their Building & Construction team in Hudson, Florida. This role involves performing various testing, site observations, and assessment duties under supervision. The Building & Construction division focuses on providing assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services for the architectural, engineering, and construction industries. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a key part of this division, offering services like construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, and environmental consulting.

Requirements

Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills
Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal & written communication
Must be able to read and understand work plans
Must be able to work off shifts and overtime
Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record

Nice To Haves

H.S. Diploma or GED, preferred
Experience performing field and/or laboratory construction materials testing is preferred, but not required
ACI/ICC/FDOT certifications are preferred

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
Operates testing equipment and conducts testing (example: Soil, concrete or other), and provides assessment of data through reporting
Works utilizing drawings, specifications and diagrams
Uses specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks
Make detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results
Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results
Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results
Communicates effectively with client and project teams
Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
