About The Position

If you have experience in HVAC, welding, pipefitting, mechanical installation, or industrial maintenance, this role lets you apply those skills in the field while building a specialized career in the energy and public safety sector. As a Field Technician at MRR, you’ll work hands-on with mechanical systems, piping, tanks, pumps, valves, and controls at job sites across the U.S. Every project is different, and your trade experience gives you a strong head start. No odorization experience required; we provide full training. This role is based out of Philippi, WV. Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary technical college program
  • Completion of post-secondary technical school or college program in mechanical or electrical engineering, pipefitting, HVAC or equivalent.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
  • Ability to understand mechanical drawings, piping layouts, or schematics
  • Physically capable of working outdoors and on your feet
  • Safety-minded with strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Comfortable using basic technology for documentation
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel extensively

  • If you’ve worked with piping systems, pumps, valves, controls, or field installations, your experience translates well here.

Responsibilities

  • Install, remove, and maintain odorization systems (tanks, piping, tubing, pumps, sensors, and fittings)
  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
  • Work with pressurized systems, valves, and fluid transfer equipment
  • Safely transfer odorants and assist with spill response when needed
  • Support natural gas pipeline pickling and commissioning projects
  • Read and interpret mechanical diagrams and schematics
  • Complete work orders, DOT documentation, and field reports using a tablet
  • Travel to project sites across the U.S. (drive or fly)
