If you have experience in HVAC, welding, pipefitting, mechanical installation, or industrial maintenance, this role lets you apply those skills in the field while building a specialized career in the energy and public safety sector. As a Field Technician at MRR, you’ll work hands-on with mechanical systems, piping, tanks, pumps, valves, and controls at job sites across the U.S. Every project is different, and your trade experience gives you a strong head start. No odorization experience required; we provide full training. This role is based out of Philippi, WV. Requirements

Completion of post-secondary technical college program
Completion of post-secondary technical school or college program in mechanical or electrical engineering, pipefitting, HVAC or equivalent.
Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
Ability to understand mechanical drawings, piping layouts, or schematics
Physically capable of working outdoors and on your feet
Safety-minded with strong teamwork and communication skills
Comfortable using basic technology for documentation
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Willingness to travel extensively

Oil & gas, utilities, construction, or industrial trades
If you’ve worked with piping systems, pumps, valves, controls, or field installations, your experience translates well here.

Responsibilities

Install, remove, and maintain odorization systems (tanks, piping, tubing, pumps, sensors, and fittings)
Perform mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance
Work with pressurized systems, valves, and fluid transfer equipment
Safely transfer odorants and assist with spill response when needed
Support natural gas pipeline pickling and commissioning projects
Read and interpret mechanical diagrams and schematics
Complete work orders, DOT documentation, and field reports using a tablet
Travel to project sites across the U.S. (drive or fly)
