We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician / Field Technician / Sr.Field Technician for our Channelview, TX location.

Requirements

  • Standing/walking
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolds
  • Bending/stooping/squatting
  • Carrying and lifting items 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet
  • Exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures and enclosed spaces
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Problem solving skills and ability to manage filing system
  • History of safe work
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Current Driver's License with clean record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with natural gas pipelines and compressor facilities
  • Familiar with DOT 192 / 195 Regulations
  • College or technical school degree
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical degree
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical industry related training

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out daily operations and maintenance tasks associated with pipeline activities and assisting with operations and maintenance of BLM’s facilities located in or around the Channelview, TX area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for environmental health and safety for ethylene, ethane, ammonia, and Hydrogen Chloride (HCl) through the pipeline system, pump stations, and associated facilities in the assigned operating area, and provide assistance to adjacent areas when needed.
  • Corrosion control, valve inspection and maintenance, damage prevention via One Calls, pipeline patrolling, preventive pipeline maintenance, and operations related to meter stations, valve sites, pump stations, and right-of-way maintenance activities along with other assigned tasks as required.
  • Assist and support construction and repairs of pipelines and associated facilities.
  • Recognizing and reporting abnormal and safety-related operating conditions, accident, and near-miss reporting, as well as emergency response.
  • Regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures associated with DOT 195, DOT 192, industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and company guidelines regarding facility equipment and appurtenances.
  • Respond to call-outs and be part of the on-call rotation for pipeline operations and emergency or abnormal situations.
  • Obtain the necessary agency requirements to enter facilities within the area of responsibility.
