We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician / Field Technician / Sr.Field Technician for our Channelview, TX location.

Requirements

Must live 30 miles within the facility
Physical requirements - standing/walking; climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; bending/stooping/squatting; carrying and lifting items 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet
Working conditions - exposure to extreme heat and cold temperatures and enclosed spaces
Strong computer skills
Excellent verbal communications skills
Problem solving skills and ability to manage filing system
History of safe work
High school diploma or equivalent
Mechanical aptitude.
Current Driver's License with clean record.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with natural gas pipelines and compressor facilities
Familiarity with DOT 192 / 195 Regulations
College or technical school degree
Mechanical and/or Electrical degree
Mechanical and/or Electrical industry related training

Responsibilities

Carrying out daily operations and maintenance tasks associated with pipeline activities.
Assisting with operations and maintenance of BLM’s facilities located in or around the Channelview, TX area of responsibility.
Ensuring environmental health and safety for ethylene, ethane, ammonia, and Hydrogen Chloride (HCl) through the pipeline system, pump stations, and associated facilities in the assigned operating area.
Providing assistance to adjacent areas when needed.
Corrosion control.
Valve inspection and maintenance.
Damage prevention via One Calls.
Pipeline patrolling.
Preventive pipeline maintenance.
Operations related to meter stations, valve sites, pump stations, and right-of-way maintenance activities.
Assisting and supporting construction and repairs of pipelines and associated facilities.
Recognizing and reporting abnormal and safety-related operating conditions.
Accident and near-miss reporting.
Emergency response.
Ensuring regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures associated with DOT 195, DOT 192, industry standards, manufacturer guidelines, and company guidelines regarding facility equipment and appurtenances.
Responding to call-outs and being part of the on-call rotation for pipeline operations and emergency or abnormal situations.
Obtaining the necessary agency requirements to enter facilities within the area of responsibility.
