About The Position

Pape’ Material Handling, Inc. is seeking a Field Technician in Seattle, Washington. The technician travels throughout an assigned territory to diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on material handling equipment at customer locations, helping keep equipment operating reliably. The role services all makes and models and may occasionally assist with repairs in the shop. It also involves communicating with customers and coordinating with the Parts Department to identify, order, and return parts. The position uses a fully equipped Pape’ service vehicle and requires the technician to provide their own tools.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience diagnosing and repairing equipment, preferably in the material handling industry.
Basic computer knowledge.
Self-motivation and ability to work with little or no supervision.
Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
Driver’s license with a good driving record.
Must provide own tools.

Nice To Haves

CDL preferred.

Responsibilities

Travel throughout the assigned territory to perform service at customer locations.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on all makes and models of material handling equipment.
Service systems including electric forklift systems, LPG and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, carburetors, electrical and air systems, final drives, and clutches.
Occasionally assist with repairs in the shop.
Communicate clearly with customers and deliver high-quality service.
Work with the Parts Department to identify, order, and return parts as needed.
