About The Position

Bo-Mac Contractors, Ltd. in the Baton Rouge / New Orleans, LA area is offering challenging and exciting career opportunities for a Field Engineer/Surveyor/Rodman. We are seeking qualified candidates that are focused on project success and exceeding customer expectations. Qualified candidates must be able to perform all duties listed below safely and follow all of the company’s safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have a TWIC card.
  • Constant standing, walking, reaching, crawling, balancing, and grasping.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, climbing, stooping/crouching, and kneeling.
  • All aspects of vision are required – acuity, depth perception, and field of vision.
  • Ability to talk and hear is very important for communication with supervisor and co-workers on safety and operational matters
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Employee must have working knowledge of Total Stations, multiple slope lasers, transit and level
  • Preference given to candidates with 5 years of Field Engineer/Surveyor/Rodman experience at meets or exceeds performance expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Activities include layout
  • Set up and maintain survey control networks to guide construction activities accurately.
  • Conduct topographic, hydrographic, and boundary surveys across various environments (coastal, overwater, land-based).
  • Provide precise layout and alignment data to support construction work such as marine structures, ports, and bridges.
  • Capture and document actual construction dimensions and features for verification against design specifications.
  • Maintain high precision in survey measurements to ensure all construction aligns with project plans and tolerances.
  • Work in varying conditions including marine, coastal, and land-based sites, adapting survey methods as required.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, construction managers, and other stakeholders to coordinate survey needs.
