About The Position

The SITECH Field Technician is primarily responsible for troubleshooting and providing high-quality installation and repairs for Trimble and Cat Grade products. This role involves responding to customer needs quickly and efficiently, while ensuring maximum value for work performed on Trimble and Caterpillar electronic equipment and software. The position requires hands-on mechanical and electrical work in a field environment.

Requirements

  • Experience with construction technology, including grade control, site control, telematics, and machine safety.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics.
  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn to effectively use company software – with training.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, and other related publications.
  • CAT ET & CAT SIS 2.0 experience.
  • Ability to drive and valid license required.
  • Safely and repeatedly lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds without assistance.
  • Safely lifting, carrying, and lowering components weighing up to 65 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials.
  • Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights.
  • Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods.
  • Safely operating tools and equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Trimble, Topcon, or Leica technology installation and repair.
  • Knowledge of use of various heavy equipment and knowledge of global positioning service (GPS) machine control.
  • Stable work history.
  • Caterpillar/On Machine /GPS/GNSS software experience and troubleshooting and installation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all levels of repair and preventive maintenance on technology in vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs, and make all critical repairs and adjustments.
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
  • Clean and maintain service truck, work area, tools, and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers on their repairs.
  • Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
