About The Position

This role is for a Heavy Equipment Field Technician III, ideal for a candidate with strong diesel engine, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills, attention to detail, and a passion for working independently and autonomously.

Requirements

Strong communication skills
Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably working with heavy oil field equipment.
10+ years of experience is desired.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage time, and make sound decisions with limited supervision.
Ability to travel throughout Texas to worksites, with overnight stays from 4 - 10 nights.
Comfortable using a computer and completing accurate electronic work orders.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

Compressor and generator experience preferable
Skidsteer, backhoe, and telehandler experience preferable

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmission systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other components of drilling, and heavy construction equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and urgent field repairs on assigned equipment.
Interpret diagnostic test results to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
Utilize technical manuals, diagnostic equipment, and other tools to troubleshoot and resolve problems efficiently.
Diagnose diesel engines and supporting systems, including starting, charging, sensor, connector, and wiring issues.
Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, fittings, leaks, and pressure-related issues.
Diagnose pneumatic and air-system concerns, as well as draw works and winch-related operating systems.
Communicate equipment status, repair needs, parts requirements, and operational blockers to leadership and the administrative team.
