About The Position

This role is for a Heavy Equipment Field Technician III, ideal for a candidate with strong diesel engine, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting and repair skills, attention to detail, and a passion for working independently and autonomously.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably working with heavy oil field equipment.
  • 10+ years of experience is desired.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, diesel engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time, and make sound decisions with limited supervision.
  • Ability to travel throughout Texas to worksites, with overnight stays from 4 - 10 nights.
  • Comfortable using a computer and completing accurate electronic work orders.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Compressor and generator experience preferable
  • Skidsteer, backhoe, and telehandler experience preferable

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmission systems, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other components of drilling, and heavy construction equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and urgent field repairs on assigned equipment.
  • Interpret diagnostic test results to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Utilize technical manuals, diagnostic equipment, and other tools to troubleshoot and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Diagnose diesel engines and supporting systems, including starting, charging, sensor, connector, and wiring issues.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, fittings, leaks, and pressure-related issues.
  • Diagnose pneumatic and air-system concerns, as well as draw works and winch-related operating systems.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair needs, parts requirements, and operational blockers to leadership and the administrative team.
