JMT is currently looking for experienced utility designators and test hole crew chiefs to join the Underground Utilities, Land Surveying, and Mapping team in Trenton, New Jersey! Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Compensation for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
  • Able to pass Background Check
  • Must be able to fully comprehend and interpret roadway and utility construction plans, and utility record drawings.
  • Ability to lead project assignments.
  • Ability to travel required.
  • Use of multiple types of utility designating equipment.
  • Good organizational, written, and verbal communications skills.
  • Knowledge of Vacuum Excavation and Ground Penetrating Radar equipment/procedures.
  • Able to work 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday (Minimum)
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Able to bend, kneel, lift and carry up to 50lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, adjusts, and operates surveying equipment including electronic total station, data collector, and GPS equipment, in order to measure distances, elevations and angles
  • Perform boundary, topography, ATLA, right of way, and construction surveys
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of survey equipment, including electronic data collectors, levels, electronic total station, GPS, and survey vehicles
  • Record accurate and clear field notes
  • Document assignments
  • Collect data using survey equipment
  • Perform calculations
